I love soup, it is as simple as that, I love almost any kind of soup. Today this made me wonder if there was a site devoted to soup, to tell me about more kinds of soup or recipes to make soup myself. Instead of just using Google or Wikipedia to find more about soup I tried something different, I visited soup.com. Did I find a community of people who also love soup? No. Did I find recipes for all kinds of soup? No. Did I find a certain brand showcasing their varieties of soup? No. I found a corporate website of Knorr, a brand of multinational Unilever, with links to their different websites in different countries.

Also I love pasta, so I tried pasta.com. Altough the site looks horrible and someone should really tell them that dancing GIFs are something for 1995, this little company at least gives me information about Pasta, informatioin I was clearly looking for.

Blows my mind how a giant marketing machine like Unilever can have a piece of internet real estate like soup.com and doesn’t have a clue on how to use it…
